If you receive suspicious calls requesting financial or banking information, please do not disclose any personal or financial details and immediately contact Taiwan's Anti-Fraud Hotline at 165.
Please be aware of the following common fraud schemes:
1. Caller ID Spoofing
Fraudsters may disguise their caller ID as 110, 165, or even our customer service telephone number. Please remain vigilant and never provide your bank account information, credit card details, or other financial information over the phone. Fraudsters may subsequently spoof your phone number or impersonate legitimate organizations to gain your trust.
2. Contact Outside Business Hours
The accounting, finance, and customer service departments of Chicony ITD Shop and Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd. will never contact you by phone call or text message outside of business hours regarding your orders or request order modifications.
If you receive suspicious phone calls or messages, please exercise caution. If you have any concerns, please contact us during business hours by telephone or email, and we will be happy to assist you.
3. False Claims About Incorrect Payment Selections
Other than installment payments that you voluntarily selected during checkout, Chicony ITD Shop does not provide any installment payment conversion services or automatic deduction programs.
Convenience stores will not automatically deduct payments because of an incorrectly selected option. Our accounting and finance departments will never ask you to operate an ATM to correct payment information or process refunds.
Please do not be deceived by such requests.
4. Never Operate an ATM Upon Request
ATMs do not provide functions such as:
- Cancelling installment payments;
- Cancelling transactions or deductions;
- Identity verification services.
There is also no functional difference between Chinese and English ATM interfaces.
Fraudsters frequently use spoofed caller IDs while impersonating bank representatives, police officers, prosecutors, or government officials to instruct victims to transfer money through ATMs. Once funds are transferred, they are often immediately withdrawn by the perpetrators.
Please remain vigilant and never transfer funds based solely on telephone instructions.
5. Verify Before Taking Action
Do not panic or feel pressured by suspicious callers. If you encounter any questionable requests, please wait until business hours and verify the information with us directly.
